So we got this FABULOUS car seat at my baby shower. My aunts and grandmother went in and bought us the Sunshine Radian80. I was really excited and knew it was going to be great for the bug. You can use it up to 80 lbs! (We probably won't as I think as the bug grows he'll be more comfortable in a booster like Clek, but still, good to know.)
Well, this past weekend, I was FED UP with the Graco Infant Seat and said ENOUGH! It was time to put in the convertible car seat. Enter problem. The hubby spent a big chunk of time trying to configure it into the Acura. We figured out quickly that it wouldn't fit behind the passenger seat, but we thought for sure that it would fit in the middle. WRONG! I'd be driving like a granny all up on the steering wheel to even consider it fitting. )@#($*#@_)(
I am so bummed. We are pretty sure it'll fit in the Accord, so into daddy's car it goes. And it'll be great once we can turn the bug forward facing, but that's another six months. So....mommy needs to buy a new car seat. A new car seat that will fit in the back seat of an Acura RDX rear-facing. I want a Britax ...now I just have to dig up the mula. Waaa!

We're counting down until the days when no one needs a car seat any more. We have the oldest two in booster seats and it's amazing to see how much quicker everyone gets in the car when there's just the seat belt to buckle. Everyone tells us we're going to miss having small kids when they grow up, but I don't think I'm going to miss car seats. At. All.
Good luck on your search for a good seat.
LOVE my britax Marathons...I have 2 and they fit rear facing in a CRV...can't wait to turn them front. 3 months to go and they will be 2 and hopefully more than 21 pounds each! You can try car seats in your car at BRU....
That's insane that it won't fit in your car!! We LOVE our Britax, but we never used it rear-facing so I have no idea how much more space it takes up that way. I think at BRU they'll let you try the seat in your car before purchasing. You could do that then find a good site to order online and save money - especially if you're willing to pick a pattern from last year. We saved tons ordering ours instead of buying at the store!
Please be aware that the APA reccommends that you rearface your child to the limits of your carseat (most carseats will rearface to 30-35 lbs). Do some research about extended rearfacing. Your child is 5x more safe rearfacing then forward facing. Each time you take a step down in carseats, you decrease your child's safety- from rearfacing to forward facing to booster. We have the sunshine radian 65, great seat, but yes it is a tight fit rearfacing. The Britax might fit better. It is really a personal decisions, I just thought I would share the information!

We have the Britax and LOVE it! I moved her from the Peg Perego infant seat to Britax right at 1 year. She loves it. Although it's a bit difficult to figure out how to get the seat liner out, but once you figure it out, its not that bad. Just this morning I spent 20 minutes getting it off due to the fact that Paula was turning her juice box over and letting it all go everywhere in the car seat and laughing. Nice.
Fact check...moved her into the Britax faced backwards at 8 months bc I, too, was OVER the infant seat.
